The Bell Tower is the only place in the world where you can view bell ringing in action! Have a go with at an interactive Bell Chiming Experience where you can try the art of bell ringing yourself with an experienced tour guide. Learn about the history of the Bell Tower and the historic royal bells.


See the new 6.5tonne ANZAC Bell and watch it at midday every day for 1 minute. Commemorating Australia’s bicentenary in 1988, twelve bells of the eighteen bells in the tower were a gift from St Martin in the Fields. The additional bells include two from the cities of London and Westminster, who each gifted one bell to the project, and a total of three bells bestowed by a consortium of British and Australian mining companies. Completing the ring of eighteen bells, a sixth new bell was commissioned by the Western Australian Government to mark the second millennium.

Before your tour: Tours run Monday - Saturday, between 10.30am - 2.30pm
Please arrive 5 minutes before your tour start time There is no Bell Tower Experience tours at 11.30am. Instead, the ANZAC Bell Tour is available at 11.30am - the new premium small group tour Experienced bell ringers perform in concert every Monday and Thursday 12pm - 1pm and no Bell Tower Experience Tours take place during these times. Days and times are subject to change without notice.
Recommended by staff: We recommend timing your visit on a Monday or Thursday so you can see the bells ring by the professionals (between 12 noon and 1pm every Monday and Thursday) and listen to the new 6,500kg ANZAC Bell ring at 12 noon for 1 minute. The ANZAC Bell Tour

The ANZAC Bell Tour is the small group premium tour at the Bell Tower. Find out about the meaning of the 6,500kg ANZAC Bell and witness it ring at midday.


Starting on level 1, you will step behind the scenes into the ringing chamber to chime the ancient bells with your experienced tour guide. You will also learn about the history of the ANZAC Bell before following your tour guide to level 5, where you will see the powerful 6,500kg ANZAC Bell ring at midday.

Experienced bell ringers perform in concert Thursday and Sunday 12pm - 1pm (days and times are subject to change without notice) We recommend to allow 1 hour at the Bell Tower. At the conclusion of the tour you are free to discover the Tower's fascinating exhibits, including the St Martin-in-the-Fields bells from London dating back to 1725, the oldest bell in Australia and the Mark Creasy Turret Clock Free tickets (aged 0 - 4 years and companion card holders) do not receive the ANZAC medallion - there is an option to add on the medallion during the check out stage, or purchase one in person at the Bell Tower for $9.95 The Bell Tower is open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 10am - 4pm with last entry at 3.45pm.
