Discover Fluoro Diving

At Perth Scuba you can now discover something so different and magical, that you will never see marine creatures the same way again. Taking you back to premier ocean discovery, we call it "FLUORO-Diving.
Not to be confused with phosphorescence, or bio-luminescence, Fluorescence is the absorption of one wavelength of light (or colour) and the re-emission of another, totally different wavelength of light (or colour). A fluorescent object under white light reveals its true colour. But under near UV light, it absorbs the blue and re-emits a fluorescent colour, transforming the blue into a brightly glowing, totally different colour.
When you book a Discover Fluoro Diving experience one of the Perth Scuba crew will join you on a night dive in local Perth waters. We'll bring the torch and mask filter so you can see the different colours that the coral and some critters emit and which we can see only at night.
Thus, underwater, marine animals that fluoresce have the ability to convert one colour into an entirely different colour!
The true reason for fluorescence in corals remains unclear today, but the reason for fluorescence in more complex creatures is completely obscure. The subject of fluorescence extends all boundaries in understanding and even now remains as controversial in the science community as it is fascinating.

So few people have experienced this amazing form of diving! Be one of the few and see an astounding array of colours and marine life that you never knew existing.
As part of your dive experience, Perth Scuba includes the hire of your dive torch and mask filter so you can see this amazing underwater light show.
Perth Scuba Discover Fluoro Diving experience includes: Hire of Blue Light Torch Hire of Yellow Mask Filter (one size fits all) Divemaster Dive Guide
You must be an Advanced Open Water Diver or above to join this evening. However, if you are an Open Water Diver please add our "Instructor Dive Guide" to your booking and we'll provide an experienced PADI Instructor to guide you through your first night dive combined with your fluoro dive! Plus, we'll even sign your log book so you already have a dive towards your PADI Advanced Open Water Course
