Summit to Sea Eyre Peninsula 4WD Escape

From rugged ridgelines to windswept shores — a full-day 4WD adventure on South Australia’s wild side.

Overview

through a private outback station filled with rocky tracks, native bushland, and wildlife before descending to the coast for a thrilling sand dune and beach drive along the Eyre Peninsula’s eastern edge.

It’s a true showcase of South Australia’s diversity — outback, ocean, and everything in between — experienced through the lens of adventure and guided by those who know the region best.

Outback Track Adventure

Our journey begins inland, venturing into the heart of a private outback station that few ever get to explore. Winding 4WD tracks climb through rugged rocky ridgelines, surrounded by hardy vegetation and the raw textures of the Eyre Peninsula’s interior. Along the way, you might encounter western grey kangaroos, wallaroos, emus, eagles, lizards, and other wildlife that thrive in this untouched landscape.

At the summit lookout, we’ll take a moment to soak in the panorama — an incredible view stretching all the way to the Southern Ocean. It’s the perfect place to pause, breathe in the stillness, and capture some of the most dramatic photographs of the day.

Ocean Dune and Beach Drive

Leaving the outback behind, the track leads us toward the coast — where the landscape shifts dramatically. Here, we trade rocks for sand as we navigate rolling coastal dunes and open beaches. This section of the tour offers a pure sense of freedom: the hum of the 4WD over the sand, the scent of the sea, and the endless horizon ahead.

Keep your camera ready for shorebirds, terns, sea gulls, and even fur seals basking near the surf. Because this location is outside national park boundaries, guests are welcome to fly drones, making it an incredible opportunity for photographers and content creators to capture the adventure from above.

The Experience

The Summit to Sea 4WD Escape is designed for those seeking a soft adventure — exciting and authentic, yet comfortable and accessible. It’s not a hardcore off-road challenge, but rather a balanced blend of scenic exploration, wildlife encounters, and off-road excitement.

What makes this experience truly special is the contrast: rugged outback ridges meeting the open ocean, land meeting sea, and adventure meeting serenity. Every turn of the track tells a story of South Australia’s wild heart — and every stop invites you to connect more deeply with it.
