Shore excursion - Hobart's best in half a day.

Specifically tailored for cruise ship passengers. Get the most out of your time in Hobart by visiting 3 of Hobart's most must see, popular attractions as well as bonus city highlights! Enjoy guided commentary throughout the day as you travel through the city and visit the famous Salamanca Market (Saturday only) located in the historic Salamanca Place where there is over 300 stalls filled with locally made products to explore. Next up is Richmond, a quaint little township rich in convict history and renown for its unique local shops and eateries. Finally, Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, the highlight of our tour for many of our passengers! A chance to come face to face with and hand feed unique Tasmanian and Australian wildlife. (Included in city highlights is a visit to a lookout with views overlooking the River Derwent, Tasman Bridge, City and Mt Wellington (Kunanyi) as well a stop at a local cheesemaker for cheese sampling in the Coal Valley region).

Whilst the streets are quiet, we will take you on a city highlights tour en route to Hobart’s spectacular backdrop, Kunanyi (Mt. Wellington). Breathe in the famous pristine Tasmanian air as we drive up the 1272m to the pinnacle where you will be greeted by the very best view of Hobart and surrounds. After you take that perfect Instagram worthy selfie, you would have no doubt worked up an appetite! It is now time for Salamanca Market (Saturday only). This world class market offers the best of Tassie culture - art, produce, buskers, souvenirs, beverages and much more!

After 90 minutes of exploring the market, we will make our way to Richmond. An iconic township rich in convict history, sandstone and colonial buildings and home to Australia’s oldest bridge and catholic church. The afternoon presents you with two options. The first is Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary where you can hand feed kangaroos and get up close and personal with all the unique Tasmanian and Australian wildlife, including the famous Tasmanian Devil - an absolute highlight (even for a local!).

The second option is MONA Museum - the largest privately owned museum in the southern hemisphere! Known and loved for its quirky and strange art, this museum also offers restaurants and bars that showcase their local wine and Tasmanian produce. Enjoy wandering around this amazing world renowned museum of old and new art.

Entry cost $30.00pp
If both options sound equally appealing, we are happy to cater for both! This will incur an additional fee of $22.00 fee which will include your ferry back to the city where you will make your own way back to your accommodation.

Shore Excursion - Hobart Highlights Day Tour

TAILORED SPECIFICALLY FOR CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERS ONLY. This tour ticks so many boxes that there's not many more left to tick when visiting Hobart city! Jump onboard to experience 5 of Hobart's must sees in one day at an affordable price without feeling rushed. This tour covers Hobart's most popular attractions including; Salamanca Market (Saturday only), Mt Wellington (Kunanyi), city highlights (covering all the important sites in and around the city), Richmond (a quaint little township rich in convict history), Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary (hand feeding Kangaroos and meeting unique Australian wildlife) and MONA museum (known for its quirky, strange and amazing art). Bonorong and MONA are the crowd pleasers on this exciting day tour and both have won multiple tourism awards. You won't be disappointed! Your ship must be in at the port for a minimum of 8 hours for you to be able to visit both of these attractions, otherwise you can select your preferred of the two. If you choose to visit one out of the two attractions, the tour duration will be 6-6.5 hours. If you choose to visit both attractions, the tour duration will be 8 hours. Cradle Mountain in a day from Hobart

Recognised worldwide for its sheer beauty, Cradle Mountain is not to be missed while visiting Tasmania. Once thought to be impossible, but due to high demand, here it is: Hobart to Cradle Mountain and back in a day!

Join us on this 14 hour day tour and enjoy the scenic beauty as we make our way north from Hobart. The 4 hour drive each way is broken into 2 x 2 hour intervals to stretch the legs, grab a coffee and something to eat (at own cost).
Upon arrival at the Information Centre on the doorstep of Cradle Mountain, we will stock up on fluids and make our way to the shores of Dove Lake where you will have 2 hours to wander around the Dove Lake circuit or choose one of the many other large or small walks.
Once Dove Lake has been explored and you’ve captured that prized Instagram photo, it’s time to move on to the Enchanted forest and King Billy Pine walks. These two exceptionally beautiful and ancient walks will have you gazing through the forest with amorous delight as you breathe in the crisp, pristine air from under the canopy of 4000 year old trees. Native wildlife is abundant in this area, so keep your eyes peeled and you may see the elusive Tasmanian Devil, wombats, Spotted Quolls, wallabies and more!
After 4.5 hours exploring it is time to make the mission back South.
This tour departs Hobart at 6am and returns by 8pm.
