Double Island Surf Hire Tour or Play Adventure Noosa (day trip)

Experience the stunning Double Island Point on a day trip with your friends and family to relax, explore or surf in crystal clear waters off the beaten track. Sunshine Coast's hidden gem is only accessibly by 4WD vehicles along the Great Beach Drive and boasts as the easiest, longest wave in Australia . Uncrowded waves, this place is a once in a life time experience and is often passed by many travelers that simply don't know it's there. Ride crystal clear w aves 100's of meters long even as a beginner! The crystal clear warm waters set in the Great Sandy Marine Park are often buzzing with local marine life. Large pods of dolphins, whales (over 35,000 this season), turtles, rays and sea birds are all frequent here.

Itinerary (5-6 hours) :
Depart Noosa in specialised 4WD vehicles from pick up points. Travel via Noosa North Shore ferry and onto Teewah Beach. Experience the thrill of the Great Beach Drive passing the stunning Rainbow Beach coloured sand cliffs & Fraser Island views. Breathtaking remote beaches > an amazing sense of freedom. Arrive at an untouched paradise, Double Island Point. Home to Australia’s longest waves & many Australian wildlife. Relax, play, explore. Light snacks & refreshments provided. Return trip along the Great Beach Drive to Noosa. Large range of board equipment is available needs to be confirmed prior to tour.




This tour departs Noosa, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast from one of the 3 pick up points below. When you book your tour, you'll have to choose a pick up location. If you want to change the pick up location on your booking you must contact us at least 24 hours prior to the tour's departure. Please meet 15 minutes before departure at your pick up point.

We always recommend participants dedicated to learning how to surf to join our private one on one lessons as your progression & understanding of the surf is much faster than group lessons and also such a rewarding National Park surfing experience to remember.

LOCATION:

Double Island Point is within Noosa's Great Sandy National Park and features a long sandy point break that is ideal for learning and progressing as the waves roll along the point creating long and often empty surf. With the longer wave break participants can take much more time in practicing skills with ride time on the waves also much more. Surfing at this pristine remote National Park location has many other rewarding benefits and the sense of freedom is fantastic for the mind and soul.

For the less experienced surfers Double Island Point is the safest and most rewarding place to learn to surf . The unique access of beach 4X4 only ensures there is always plenty of empty waves and good times for all. Depending on your level we can progress your surfing and teach you:
Board handling in and out of the water. Correct pop up technique. Surf positioning. Proper paddling technique. Timing & catching waves. Standing up, technique corrections. Riding wave, turning & generating speed. nose riding & more technically advanced tricks.

Depart Noosa in specialised 4X4 vehicles from pick up points. Travel via Tewantin cable ferry to Noosa North Shore and onto Teewah Beach. Experience a unique surf adventure with beach 4X4 to a remote & pristine National Park surf wave. Spot whales on migration close to shore and other wildlife on the drive.
Arrive at a National Park surfing paradise – Double Island Point. Home to Australia’s longest waves. Equipment set up and safety/instruction briefing on the beach. Private surf lesson instruction by fully qualified, friendly surf instructors. Instructor assisted training in the water. Chance to see different wildlife whilst surfing including Bottlenose dolphins, Humpback whales, turtles, rays and more. Light snacks & refreshments provided. Return trip along spectacular Teewah Beach by 4X4 back to Noosa.
