I Just Want To Snorkel
Not every one wants to dive and, to be honest, the Sunshine Coast offers excellent snorkelling. The only requirements for snorkelling is an ability to swim, fairly good fitness as it a strenuous activity, and the ability to laugh at yourself when you first don the gear and feel rather like a fish out of water.
All of our tours cater for small groups. We even take you to areas where you can walk straight in off the beach instead of jumping from a boat. Or if you are still a little apprehensive, we offer flotation devices designed to give you extra buoyancy, and all you have to do is kick and gaze.
If you have not snorkelled before, give it a go and you will be richly rewarded. Many of the sites on the Sunshine Coast are shallow enough that once kitted out and shown where to go, in no time at all you will find your self mesmerised by the beauty below you. The water is beautiful and you simply will not notice how long you have even been swimming. If you are a novice, let us know and we can provide training if required.

Jew Shoal
Jew Shoal is located in Noosa’s pristine Laguna Bay and is reachable by boat in just 20 minutes. The site itself is a large complex of canyons, ridges and bommies, with two main features. Expect to see reef fish including angelfish, butterflyfish, surgeonfish, globefish, rabbitfish, soapfish, morwong, sweetlip and bream – as you meander through the caves. The caves consist of several large swim throughs which are a buzz with marine life. Its gutters are covered in colourful hard and soft corals. And secondly, the pin starts at seven metres depth dropping down to 16m as you descend. There are plenty of ledges, walls, and crevices to explore. Seasonal mantas and grey nurse sharks even turn up from time to time. The coral gardens here are home to an array of marine invertebrates - sea stars, feather stars, hermit crabs, urchins, cowries and over 100 varieties of nudibranchs. Both main sites feature fantastic coral layouts to go and explore for divers of all skill levels.
Old Woman Island
The colourful coral gardens of Mudjimba (Old Woman) Island are reached in less than 20 minutes by boat from Mooloolaba. This popular shallow water dive site has a dazzling array of marine life including lots of soft corals, sea sponges, sea anemones and a variety of tropical fish. It’s a safe, easy dive that is great for beginners in its sheltered shallow waters. This site is also great for snorkelling.
Inner Gneerings
Just offshore from Mooloolaba in the warm coastal waters of the Coral Sea lies the Inner Gneerings reef system. This comprehensive coral network includes numerous diverse and amazing dive spots, including Hanging Rock, the Pinnacles, Wobby Rock, the aptly named Fairyland and many, many more. The reef of the Inner Gneerings is adorned with many beautifully coloured soft corals, black coral trees and white coral whips. The area is a divers dream with a variety of marine life including rays, loggerhead and green turtles, moray eels, wobbegongs and leopard sharks – not to mention dramatic crops and coral shelves. Watch out for the sapphire damsels and fairy basslets darting in and out of cover. This site is suitable for beginners, open water and advanced divers.


Outer Gneerings


Sunshine Coast, Queensland is home to the Outer Gneering Shoals diving site. This site is, on average around 18 metres deep but does drop down to 25 at its maximum. Visibility is usually a good, clear 15 metres which makes the site feel quite open as you are able to see a lot further than in many other diving areas. Outer Gneering Shoals is an open water site that takes approximately 30 minutes by boat to get to.


Anyone with an interest or passion for coral should dive at the Outer Gneering Shoals. Among the rock and boulder formations the coral just spreads out like a vast quilt and amongst it lies the diversity of sea life that coral attracts. In the winter months around the pinnacle you will find larger pelagic fish moving around, but smaller species such as wobbygongs, leatherjackets, baitfish, angels, wrasse, butterfly and urchins are visible at most times of the year. This site is not suitable for beginners, open water and advanced divers will appreciate these dive sites
Magic Mountain
Magic Mountain, a dive site on the Outer Gneerings Reef off Mooloolaba's coast, is a dive for more experienced divers due to its depth and the complex structures formed by rocky outcrops. The large group of outcrops extend from the sandy ocean floor to form numerous gullies, ravines, bommies, swim-throughs and pinnacles, all housing soft and hard coral colonies. Fish calling Magic Mountain home include morwong, wrasse, leatherjackets, batfish, bullseyes, butterfly and angelfish. Numerous urchins, nudibranchs, anemones, feather and brittle stars, crabs, crayfish, wobbegongs and the occasional groper are also found on this rugged structure.

The Moreton Island Wrecks
Who doesn't love shipwrecks? The rusting bones of old ship hulls waiting to be explored and admired with a sense of mystery, imaging what happened to them. The Moreton Island wrecks are a well-known landmark that you must not miss while visiting Moreton Island, as the splendid beauty of nature and mystery of history await discovery there.
The Moreton Island wrecks are also known as the Tangalooma Wrecks. Their history dates back to 1963, when a group of boat owners requested the construction of a man-made harbour just off the island. Fifteen vessels that were deliberately sunk to form a breakwall for small boats also creating an amazing snorkel site. Snorkelling at this site is an incredible adventure that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
One of the most attractive features of the Moreton Island wrecks is the variety of sea creatures that are found at the site. Splashes of darting colour liven up the shallow, sun-flecked water as colourful tropical fishes, Kingfish, yellowtail, and other inhabitants of the wrecks appear as if to evaluate the visitors each day brings. The wrecks are also home to sea urchins, coral reefs, and wobbegongs. Accustomed to human presence, the inhabitants of the wrecks do not shy away from snorkelers, meaning they stay virtually only inches away from visitors.
The depth of the dive site at the wrecks is between 2-12 m. The amazing visibility of the crystal-clear waters ensures a great view of the surroundings and the fishes when you are snorkelling.
Whether you are experienced or new to snorkelling, you would have the same amount of fun spending time at the wrecks. You will enjoy the experience of viewing an actual shipwreck when you visit the Moreton Island wrecks.

Julian Rocks Marine Reserve
Julian Rocks, 2.5 km from Byron Bay's shore Named by Captain Cook in 1776, According to a story from the Bundjalung people a jealous husband threw his spear at the canoe of his wife and her lover. The canoe broke in two and sank to the bottom of the ocean. Only the back and the front of the boat stuck out of the water, creating a rock formation just 2.5 km off shore. Julian Rocks in Byron Bay consists of ancient sedimentary rock, remains of a volcanic eruption more than 20 million years ago. It is an extension of Cape Byron separated by water and forms a most unique marine reserve, providing shelter and food for more than 500 tropical and temperate fish species alone!
The marine life is incredible all year round. Grey Nurse sharks (also known as ragged tooth sharks) can be seen during the Winter months, Blue Tang visit in Spring and species such as Leopard Sharks and schools of Trevally can be seen during the Summer months. Don't forget about the Wobbegong Sharks, Octopus and Moray Eels. Of course there are Turtles, small and large, in fact, there so many species of fish and marine animals it is impossible to name them all here. The best way to experience this amazing dive site is to come along and see for yourself

Flinders Reef is a small isolated reef near Moreton Island, 5 kilometres (3 mi) north-east of Cape Moreton inSouth East Queensland, Australia. It has the highest number of coral species of any subtropical reef system along Australia's east coast and is the nearest true coral reef to Brisbane. Flinders Reef is one of Queensland's most popular dive sites. The reef is protected within the Moreton Bay Marine Park and is monitored by theReef Check conservation program

Scuba dive among an amazing array of marine life and coral, perfect for any diver. The walls, gutters, caves and pinnacles of this reef are covered in over one hundred coral species including staghorn, brain, plate and many others, as well as soft corals, gorgonians and sponges. On your dive, you'll discover that Flinders Reef also hosts more than 175 species of reef fish, invertebrates, turtles, stingrays, wobbegong sharks and even the occasional manta ray.

The diverse amount of marine life include schools of wrasse, sweetlip, trevally, parrotfish, bat, surgeon, turtles and tropical fish. Manta rays, wobbegongs and leopard sharksare among the larger creatures that reside here. Sightings of whaler sharks are sometimes seen on the eastern side of Flinders. During the months of June to September, humpback whales can be seen on the surface as they pass by.

Become an Open Water Diver with a Certified Instructor. This course will provide you the basic knowledge and skills you will need to safely visit the underwater world. On completion, you will be certified to dive anywhere in the world. Included in this course is all learning materials and your world wide certification, log book, your confined water training and pool entry; 4 Open water dives, light lunch and non alcoholic beverages are included during your open water dives.
