Learn to ride with Woodlands Riding School! We will help you develop confidence and competency in the saddle, so that you can enjoy general horse riding activities! It's never too early or late to learn! Suitable for 3 years of age through to adult! This session will be facilitated in groups of up to 3-4 riders per coach. All group participants will be matched with similar learning abilities. By attending a general lesson, this will provide flexibility to attend a session without the added commitment of term structured lessons. Each session will consist of learning basic horsemanship, how to tack up your own horse, mount independently followed by a riding lesson. The session may not include a full 50 minute riding session depending on instructor and student's learning goals.

You can book 1 to 6 ponies, big and small for a 1 hour period. Your child can either enjoy a pony on their own, or we can facilitate shared rides to all attendees! So why not book with us today? The session will include mounting, getting to know your pony, photo time and dismounting time. We welcome any supporting requests you may have! We do not allow any loud party poppers, balloons, or any loose flowy objects for safety of our farm animals. It is expected that children under the age of 5 years be accompanied by 1 parent or guardian during this experience (only 1 parent per child permitted for safety and insurance purposes). The ponies are led by an instructor or guide at all times. Maximum weight limit must be under 20kg.

The standard package includes: A 45 minute session getting to know your pony/horse from the ground and riding lesson with our instructors, followed by a 45 minute trail riding tour amidst the farmlands at Woodlands Lodge! Parents will not be permitted to walk alongside the session, all participants will be supervised by our staff. **You will need to allow up to 2 hours for this session from end to end, it will be at the instructors' discretion to assess competency of each participants at time of ride, and may result in more of a horsemanship session than riding for safety and enjoyment for everyone.**

Allow your child to get in to the School Holiday spirit by attending Woodlands School Holiday Program! This is a great opportunity for your child to participate in 3 hours of enjoyment, where they will learn all about horses and riding in a safe environment! Your child will receive guided coaching and support, whilst they grow their confidence around horses, develop their horsemanship, riding skills and participate in a trail ride!

The program is suitable for beginners through to intermediate level competency. Attendees are matched in to groups relevant to age and experience level.

Learn to horse and ride in a group of up to 3-4 for an entire 10 sessions! It's never too early or late to learn! Our sessions are suitable for ages 5 years through to adult. You'll be offered diversity in your learning experiences with us. Your term sessions will consist of both unmounted and mounted horsemanship, with exposure to both English and Western riding disciplines. Please note the sessions continue throughout the school holidays, except evening lessons (request to move them to the day time is possible with advance notice), and unless surcharge is paid and requested no lessons will run on public holidays. For private term lessons please email us for availability.

Your first session will be one on one with your coach who will assess your competency unless you have already been assessed previously. Based on this assessment, you will be grouped in to smaller classes with participants of a similar level, progressing through a learning curriculum designed to develop your confidence and competence both around horses and in the saddle! Each session will consist of learning basic horsemanship, how to tack up your own horse, mount independently followed by a riding lesson. Each session may not include a full 50 minute riding session depending on instructor and student's learning goals. It's all part of learning about horses!

3. Wear long pants and riding boots. Term students must purchase a Woodlands polo - don't forget to add it to cart.

7. Package discounts only apply to full upfront payment. Payment must be made within 48 hours otherwise all future bookings will be cancelled and opened up to our waiting list. The term commitment guarantees our clients a spot in their regular class. If term sessions need to be invoiced individually, this attracts a $7.00 administrative management fee.
