Rottnest Island Lakes & Bays Guided Hike | 12 km | 3.5 Hrs

Rottnest Island | Lakes & Bays Guided Hike
We invite you to experience Rottnest Island by foot on our 12km guided hike. Traverse spectacular coastal headlands, past stunning inland lakes and encounter both natural and man-made attractions along the way.
From "walking on water' boardwalks, to a dip in the big blue at Little Parakeet Bay or the Basin, famous shipwrecks, and a little journey of the Islands lighthouses, this one day island adventure is the perfect way to experience the highlights of Rottnest in a bite sized chunk.
Itinerary:
Check in with The Hike Collective at the visitors centre lawn to begin your trail seeking adventure of Rottnest Island.
We start our journey on the Gabbi Karniny Bidi " Discover the Salt Lakes" with some of the best views on the Island. From Vlamingh Lookout you’ll gain real perspective of what you’ll find beyond the Settlement.
We then head on to Lake Baghdad where we can stop to watch the birds dancing on the Salt Lakes. These lakes have been recognised as Wetlands of National Importance. Head onto the Lakes Boardwalk to experience the illusion of walking on water. The boardwalk safeguards the significant samphire communities below. We detour up to the Wadjemup Lighthouse where we stop for a light refreshment and a moment to enjoy the beautiful view from the highest point on the island, before returning to the trail and heading to the Northern beaches.
As the day warms up, we get to cool down as we head onto Little Parakeet bay. Kick off your shoes and paddle in the calm waters of Little Parakeet Bay in the beautiful clear turquoise waters and then we head onto Geordie Bay, Longreach Bay and to The Basin, one of the Island’s most popular swimming spots.
We finish our hiking tour back at the main settlement, where you are free to enjoy lunch the way you want to before experiencing Rottnest in your unique style for the afternoon.

We head to Rottnest Island to explore some of the best of the Wadjemup Bidi network; a series of walk trails that will take you across spectacular coastal headlands, past stunning inland lakes and encounter both natural and man-made attractions along the way.

We head off to the West End where we embark on our 10km hike along the Ngank Wen Bidi (Explore West End ). We begin with a scenic drive from Settlement out to Narrowneck. Our hike begins visiting a popular surfing spot for the adventurous ( don't worry, we won't be surfing!) at Radar Reef, before heading onto Cape Vlamingh to see the highlights of the natural arch, crashing waves, and osprey eagles.
