"BOLD & BEAUTIFUL" HIKE | ZAMIA TRAIL AT BOLD PARK, CITY BEACH
6.5 KM HIKE
The Hike Collective invites you to experience the bold climbs, and beautiful city and coastal views that the Zamia Trail has to offer, just a stones throw from the CBD. A beautiful experience to share with your four pawed companion on this pet friendly hike. This hike is beginner friendly for the new hiker, however there are a few steep climbs, so some fitness is definitely recommended.






INCLUDED IN YOUR TICKET:
As with all of our hiking tours, your ticket includes a guided hike with historical facts, education on the location, trail, and heritage of the area. Learn things that can't be found with a google search!
Our hike leaders carry communication devices and first aid kits for your safety. Feel comfortable knowing that we will guide you through your hiking experience and you can relax and enjoy.

MEETING POINT AND GETTING THERE:
Bold Park is located in city beach, and we are meeting at the WA Ecology Centre. This carpark is not huge, so arrive early enough to find parking, and check in.



TRAIL DIFFICULTY:
Bush Walk: A nice introduction to hiking for the moderately fit person, due to some fun yet challenging climbs at the start. The views from the top are definitely worth it!



WHAT TO WEAR & BRING:
Bring plenty of water ( at least 2 litres per person)
Comfortable clothes and sturdy trainers or hiking boots. With the uneven surface at times, good grip soles are advised.
If you are bringing your dog, please bring doggie bags, and your dogs lead as all dogs must remain on the lead on this hike for safety.
If you have hiking sticks, please bring them ( although not essential!)
Personal First Aid kit
Snacks / morning tea to enjoy at the end
Camera to snap some great photos fo your hike


PARK ENTRY FEES:
There are no carpark entry fees at this hike.


AMENITIES:
Public toilets are a short walk (300m) from the carpark, so please arrive with enough time to visit them if you require.


PETS:
You pet pooch is very welcome on this pet friendly trail.

UNDERSTANDING THE GRADES:
This hike is considered a TRICKY GREEN.
Green hikes are suitable for beginners and can be completed with a basic level of fitness. There are minimal vertical climbs, and between 1-5km in length.

Orange hikes are suitable for the moderately experienced or hikers with a reasonable fitness level. These are typically between 6-15 km with a decent vertical climb. Most hikes will be orange.
Red hikes are for experienced hikers or people with a good level of fitness. They are typically longer than 10 km and involve challenging elevation and terrain. They may also be shorted hikes with a continued steep vertical climb. such as Bluff Knoll.

Join us on this beautiful experience through the stunning Kings Park & Botanic Garden. A 7km journey including glorious views of the Swan River and Mt Eliza escarpment, and exploring the unique flora of the Kings Park bushland.
Discover the stories of Kings Park from early times as we wind through the memorials, visit Gija Jumulu, the 750-year-old Boab tree, and wander along the Boodja Gnarning walk trail that highlights the diverse methods of survival used by Nyoongar people to live off the land in the south-west of Western Australia.
Take a breathtaking walk through the treetops as we walk along the Lottery West Federation Walkway, also known as the “glass bridge” with striking artwork celebrating the Centenary of Federation, Aboriginal Culture and the magnificent trees of the Swan Coastal Plain.

HIKE GRADING:
This hike is a grade 2. It is suitable for families with children. No bushwalking or hiking experience required. These trails tend to be on hard or compacted surfaces, with a small amount of loose surface. Due to distance, we recommend a basic level of fitness.
