Hutt Lagoon Pink Lake Flight from Geraldton
Depart Geraldton Airport for a once in a lifetime opportunity on this 1 hour flight to see the Pink Lake at Hutt Lagoon near Port Gregory.
Fly up the coast from Geraldton to the the sandy shores and brilliant blues of Australia's Coral Coast up to the Pink Lake.
The lake contains a pink hue created by presence of carotenoid-producing algae Dunaliella salina, a source of ß-carotene, a food-colouring agent and source of vitamin A.
The Pink Lake is approximately 70 square kilometres with most of it lying a few metres below sea level and fed by marine waters through springs.
After circling the lake head back along the coast and over the town to the airport.

Begin the tour by flying over the city of Geraldton to the Abrolhos Islands.
The Abrolhos Islands are a chain of 122 islands and associated coral reefs in the Indian Ocean, approximately 65 kilometres off the west coast of Australia. It is the southernmost true coral reef in the Indian Ocean, one of the highest latitude reef systems in the world and one of the most important seabird breeding sites.
Composed of three groups of 40 islands each, The Abrolhos boasts an incredible range of marine life and spectacular coral gardens that are excellent for diving and snorkelling while sea lions, dolphins and migratory whales are often spotted in the area.
We overfly the Pelsaert Group before heading North to the Wallabi Group, c ontinuing to fly over the breathtaking Abrolhos Islands coral atolls and the site of the historical Batavia shipwreck. This Dutch ship which was wrecked on Morning Reef in the Abrolhos Islands in 1629. Dozens drowned while the survivors including 125 men, women and children were then murdered by a mutinous merchant.
From there we return directly to Geraldton fly airport.

Join Nationwest Aviation on a 2 hour 15 minute scenic trip offering an immense scope of what the Kalbarri region has to offer.
Heading out to the ocean to the Abrolhos Islands, overfly the Pelsaert Group of the Abrolhos and up to the Wallabi Group. Descending low past East Wallabi, West Wallabi and the spectacular surfing break called Super Tubes.
Spend the next 20 minutes taking in the sights including a magnificent panorama of bright, vibrant corals visible through the shallow waters surrounding the islands.

We land on East Wallabi Island, known for its beautiful coral and turquoise bays. From here enjoy a short walk to Turtle Bay where the morning is spent swimming and snorkelling in the protected waters of the coral reef.
Enjoy a delicious and generous Antipasto spread with tea and plunger coffee (included). Afterwards, discover the abundant birdlife, neighbouring islands, and limestone cave formations on a nature walk.
After our time at the Abrolhos we fly back to the mainland to the unique Hutt Lagoon Pink Lake near Port Gregory.
The lake contains a pink hue created by presence of carotenoid-producing algae Dunaliella salina, a source of ß-carotene, a food-colouring agent and source of vitamin A.
The Pink Lake is approximately 70 square kilometres with most of it lying a few metres below sea level and fed by marine waters through springs.
After the Pink Lake up the coast Kalbarri along the Coastal cliffs to Bluff Point and the mouth of the Murchison River.
majestic Coastal Cliffs that tower over Gantheume Bay, with the lovely red sedimentary rock colors. The coastal cliffs have been over 400 million years in the making and were once part of an ancient coral reef system.
Heading inland along the river we fly to the Kalbarri National Park gorges with many of its amazing wonders of nature only visible by air. Fly over Z-band, the loop and other points of interest, before returning to Geraldton via the inland route.

- Scenic Flight to and from East Wallabi Island, including overflying famous sites in the Batavia story (Part of the Wallabi Group of Abrolhos Islands). 30 to 40 minutes to East Wallabi. 1 hour 45 to 2 hours return scenic flight over the Pink Lake, Kalbarri National Park and Kalbarri on return to Geraldton
- Lunch, tea, and coffee (Coffee from Don Massimo)
- Telling of the Batavia Story by pilot
- Guided Nature walk to explore the Abrolhos Islands with explanations on the flora and fauna
- Snorkelling amongst some of the most amazing coral in the world. Mask, Snorkel and Fin provided, please advise if you would like to bring your own.
- Headsets standard on all flights for noise reduction and pilot commentary.
