We will meet near the water fountain next to the Signal Box cafe, opposite Queens Wharf Light Rail Stop . Look for your guide in a Newcastle Afoot t-shirt - don't worry, we will be easy to find! There is seating available in the area. We will walk through historic Newcastle East, and finish back near where we started.

Wear comfortable shoes, preferably closed toed. Bring sun and/or rain protection and a bottle of water.
Weather Information

Newcastle Afoot walking tours operate in nearly all weather conditions, so we will go ahead even if it is raining!
Please check the weather on the morning of your tour and prepare appropriately - bring an umbrella and rain jacket as needed. Sunscreen is a must - we will be outside most of the tour. On very hot days the tour will be adapted to reduce our time in the sun.

Enjoy a delicious exploration of 3 of Newcastle's best and classiest bars. On a beautiful peninsula between the harbour & the sea, Newcastle can be hard to navigate, even for locals. We’ll show you some of Newcastle's most interesting, hard to find places. What we'll learn
The tour is packed with interesting stories from Newcastle's night time economy to keep you informed and entertained. From Newcastle's convict settlers to more recent liquor licence changes, Newcastle has been at the forefront to many changes that have shaped Australia. You’ll learn about convict escapees, sailor's woes, the six o'clock swill, and social and urban changes over the last 200 years. Inclusions
