Tour Description
Your day begins with pick-up from your Broken Hill accommodation between 8:00am – 8:15am (earlier departures may apply during summer months).
Travel 130km through dramatic Outback scenery, from the rugged Barrier Ranges to mulga country and sweeping saltbush plains. Enjoy morning tea in the shade of majestic river red gums along a dry creek bed before entering Mutawintji National Park.
At the Historic Site, your Indigenous guide will share the story of Kullawarra and the creation of Mutawintji. Visit ceremonial grounds where initiations once took place and embark on interpretive bush walks to both the Engravings Site and the Stencils Site. See ancient fireplaces, stone tool-making remnants and cultural markings that provide insight into traditional Aboriginal life.
After exploring the gorges and rock shelters, enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to Broken Hill.
