In the morning, our experienced instructor will guide you through an engaging classroom session. Discover the secrets of underwater photography as you delve into topics such as equipment essentials, composition, lighting techniques, and post-processing. Gain a solid foundation in underwater photography principles and understand how to overcome the unique challenges presented by the aquatic environment.
After we break for lunch we will begin the in water session in the Scubabo pool located on site. This controlled aquatic setting is the perfect playground to put your newfound knowledge into action. Engage with underwater subjects, refine your techniques, and receive personalized guidance from our expert instructor. This hands-on experience will boost your confidence and allow you to capture mesmerizing underwater photographs.

Join the SSI Science of Diving specialty and you will develop a complete understanding of the underwater world and its effects on the human body. This specialty is required training for most SSI Professional programs, as well as some Extended Range programs, and is an essential way to expand your dive knowledge. Available online, you can earn your SSI Science of Diving specialty certification from home and get ready to begin your dive professional career. Upon completion, you will be halfway to earning the coveted SSI Divemaster rating and earn the SSI Science of Diving specialty certification.

Join us on an unforgettable day tour that kicks off at 7am at the Scubabo dive centre, where the adventure begins. We'll gather our freedive equipment and set our sights on the Great Barrier Reef. By 8am, our tour sets sail, guided by our experienced skipper and crew, who will steer us towards the finest reefs based on the weather conditions. This is a guided tour with one of our Scubabo Freedive Instructors ready to show you the marvellous world of the Great Barrier Reef!
Prepare to be enchanted as we delve into the wonders of the reef, armed with freedive floats and a desire for discovery. Our journey will encompass exhilarating depth training sessions and the thrill of freediving through captivating reef structures. During the tour, we provide a catered lunch, served on board while we relax and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. Recharged and ready for more, we'll locate a second site for additional freediving adventures, immersing ourselves in the enchanting underwater world once again. As the clock approaches 2pm, we'll bid farewell to the depths and make our way back to land, retracing our steps to Cairns, where we'll arrive at 4-5pm.

By giving dive briefings, doing site evaluations, and leading dives, you will become a confident Dive Guide in no time. Begin your diving career working as a Professional Dive Guide or continue the qualifications for Divemaster.

Our expert photographer will lead an engaging session, where you'll learn the fundamentals of underwater photography, from understanding camera settings to composition techniques.
Armed with newfound knowledge, we'll head out to the awe-inspiring Great Barrier Reef for your first dive or freedive session. With the guidance of our photographer, you'll have the opportunity to put theory into practice, capturing the breathtaking beauty of the reef's marine life. Learn how to master natural lighting, capture mesmerizing colours, and compose captivating shots.
Day 2:
Awake to the gentle rocking of the liveaboard, surrounded by the stunning turquoise waters of the Great Barrier Reef. After a delicious breakfast, it's time to take your skills to the next level. Dive or freedive once again, accompanied by our expert photographer, who will provide personalized guidance to help you refine your underwater photography techniques.
Back on board, prepare to dive into the fascinating world of post-processing. Our photographer will teach you how to bring your underwater images to life using Adobe Lightroom. From enhancing colours and removing distractions to adding that extra touch of magic, you'll unlock the secrets of editing underwater photos to create stunning visual narratives.
