A luxurious ‘best of Margaret River’ itinerary
McLeod Tours are an award-winning family business based in the Margaret River Region. This is a curated highlights tour from Perth to Margaret River, ideal for getting a flavour of the region’s finest wineries, restaurants, stunning coastline, attractions and wildlife, all with specialist local knowledge. Guests can relax as we take care of everything – while allowing time to enjoy their beachfront resort facilities.

Day 1
7-7.30am pick up from your Perth CBD hotel. Discover maritime history, a delicious brewery lunch and wine paradise before settling into your luxurious beachside resort.
· Fascinating commentary from your guide on local history, geography and attractions
· Scenic drive through the seaside town of Mandurah, stopping for coffee and breakfast at Tods Café, overlooking the river. Watch for Mandurah’s famous dolphins.
· Enjoy a stroll on the historic Busselton Jetty, the longest timber pile jetty in the southern hemisphere stretching 1.8km out into Geographe Bay.
· Settle in for a delicious lunch at Wild Hop Brewery gazing across Wildwood Valley and native bushland. Specialising in small batch seasonal beers, local wines and a generous share style menu.
· After lunch we visit Domaine Naturaliste, one of the region’s finest boutique wine estates owned by acclaimed winemaker Bruce Dukes. A seated tasting is the perfect introduction to our wine journey, with the region’s best varietals and a great tutorial on our maritime climate, ancient granite soils and sustainable farming practices.
· Check into the luxurious Smiths Beach Resort, take a dip in the pool then watch the sun set over one of Western Australia’s most loved beaches.
· The evening meal is at guest’s expense. Onsite options include Lamont’s Smiths Beach a la carte dining and a Gourmet Deli & Wine store with takeaway fish and chips, ready-made chef-prepared meals and international wines.

Day 2
Enjoy breakfast at Lamont’s Smiths Beach from 7am. 8.30am pick up for a scenic day visiting the region’s natural wonders followed by lunch at Margaret River’s most iconic winery restaurant.
· Marvel at two magnificent coastal spots; Surfers Point, the world-famous surf break, and River Mouth where the Margaret River meets the sea.
· Discover the art of fine wine with a tasting at Leeuwin Estate. Gain valuable insight into the history of the Estate, the winemaking philosophy and browse the collection of artworks featured on the Art Series labels.
· Vasse Felix is the ultimate Margaret River wine experience; exquisite service, fascinating history and superb food and wine. First, we delve into the Estate’s history and folklore of the region’s original vineyard, planted in 1967, followed by a tutored tasting of their wines. Then relax in the stylish upstairs restaurant, indulging in an exquisite lunch overlooking the vines.
· Put your feet up, take a beach walk or enjoy a cocktail by the pool at Smiths Beach Resort.
· Following such a generous lunch, many guests prefer to skip dinner or opt for a lighter evening meal (at guest’s expense). Onsite options include Lamont’s Smiths Beach and the Gourmet Deli & Wine store with takeaway fish and chips, ready-made chef-prepared meals and international wines.

Day 3
Enjoy breakfast at Lamont’s Smiths Beach from 7am. See spectacular Yallingup coast followed by gallery visits and lunch at an award-winning, biodynamic, carbon negative winery before making our way back to Perth.
· Gaze in awe at Canal Rocks, Yallingup, where water surges through a narrow gap in 600-million-year-old granite rock formations. Stroll across the wooden bridge for a closer look.
· Countless artists call Margaret River home; they’re drawn to the natural beauty and tight knit community. Yallingup Galleries represents celebrated West Australian artists including painters, jewellers, sculptors, furniture and printmakers – the perfect place to pick up a special memento.
· Vasse Virgin make superb skincare and gourmet food from natural ingredients like Australian extra virgin olive oil, plant extracts and essential oils. Taste and sample their products – they make lovely gifts.
· Enjoy a seated tasting in Cullen’s Biodynamic Carbon Neutral Wine Room. Then dine on a four-course menu paired with biodynamic wines in the original wood-lined cellar door, overlooking vines planted in 1971 by the pioneering wine family. Cullen’s biodynamic kitchen garden grows 90% of the produce used in the lunch; the rest comes from local farmers.
· Depart Cullen Wines and relax on the journey back to Perth.

· Drop off at your Perth hotel approximately 6 – 6.30pm
