Tour Description
The tour starts mid-morning at your chosen pick-up point on the Sunshine Coast. Relax on the short drive or, if your group is feeling upbeat, bring your music to get the party started.
At around 11.30 you’ll be rolling up to the first of our three awesome breweries, The Glasshouse Brewery, tucked away among the organic shops and industrial spaces of Forest Glen. The Glasshouse has kept that cool, industrial pared-back functional vibe in its tall, airy ceilings, wooden beams and pallet-clad walls, which means that there’s plenty of space to stretch out.
The passion project of a couple of mates who thought of it over a beer (what else?), the Glasshouse Brewery is the centre of a lively post-Covid jazz scene and the host of the Sunshine Coast Jazz & Brews Fest 2021, so, if luck is on your side, you might be treated to a spot of jazz while you’re served from a mouthwatering selection of choice house beers. You’ve got your Front & Line, a classic Aussie draught ale brewed in honour of our fantastic healthcare workers, a sharp and fruity Raspberry Sour, a grassy Pilsner and a whole ton of other classy brews.
Jump back in the minibus for the short drive to your next stop, Warana-based Your Mates Brewing Co, a uniquely successful craft brewery (Best New Brewery Beery Award 2019) with an awesome from-underdog-to-top dog backstory, an array of popular beers and damn good food. Hep and McGarry, the co-founders of Your Mates, say that their brewery is built on good mates, good times and good beer - and it shows! As soon as you step inside, you’ll feel right at home.
Tuck into your freshly-prepared lunch with a taste of Larry, an Australian pale ale that was Your Mates’ first-ever beer - and voted the 5th most popular beer in all of Australia. Pretty good going, huh? With two brew kits, Your Mates can brew 3,000 litres of beer at a time, and with the kegs and fermenters, there’s a heck of a lot of beer on the go. There are 12 beers on tap and a few experimentals and small batches that are only available on-site.
After lunch, it’s time to get back on the road to drive to popular Maroochydore surfing resort Alexandra Headland for your third and final stop, 10 Toes Brewery. Founded by Rupert and Kelly, an ex-corporate couple who saw the light, it’s quickly gained a reputation and followers for the variety and depth of its beers. Its core range includes super thirst-quenching Hell Yes German-style lager, brewed with Pilsner malts and Motueka hops; rich chocolatey Alter Ego, a vanilla porter; and Pipeline, bursting with the acidity of tropical fruits.
After this leisurely chill-out stop, it’s time to head back to your chosen drop-off point

You can mix it up in comfort and style as we pick you up from your chosen pick-up point in our COVID-safe air-conditioned minibus. We’ll drive you in luxury through the beautiful foothills of the spectacular Blackall Range to our first stop, the iconic Clouds Vineyard, which showcases a range of handcrafted wines and beers in its barrel-shaped Tasting Hall.
After a refreshing sip (or two) it’s time to jump back in the minibus for the scenic route towards Maleny and your second stop, the awesomely Germanic King Ludwig’s Restaurant & Bar. Sit down to an amazingly authentic award-winning German lunch and a choice of tasty Teutonic beers as you gaze at the spectacular views of the Glasshouse Mountains.
You’ll finish your day somewhere back in the 1950s at Rick’s Garage, a vibrant retro diner with a specialist whisky bar and heaps of laid-back atmosphere. When you’ve had time to discover your rockabilly roots, we’ll drive you back in safety and style to your chosen drop-off point.

Book in advance section:
Each of the venues we feature has a COVID-safe policy, which means visitor numbers are more limited than usual. Don’t forget to book early!

Tour Description
The tour starts at mid-morning at your chosen pick-up point, relax on the short half-hour drive while our experienced driver takes you through the luscious, spectacular foothills of the Blackall Range, through quaint towns and past awesome lookout points. It’s a pretty drive, all the way there and back.
Our first stop of the day is at Clouds Vineyard , located up at the magnificently-named Bald Knob. The vineyard has inspirational views and the team will welcome you into The Barrel, a barrel-shaped tasting house that’s packed full of opportunities to taste some of the best wines and craft beers in Australia.
Clouds showcase a range of award-winning wines from Granite Ridge, Casley Mt Hutton and Kominos wineries, as well as a choice of exciting beers, such as the exclusive stout “Dark Cloud” brewed specially by their mates at Copperhead Brewery.
After you’ve enjoyed the views, wines and brews at Clouds, we hope that you’ve worked up an appetite because the next stop is a treat and a half! It’s off toward Maleny for lunch at King Ludwig’s German Restaurant & Bar, where Barbara & Klaus and the team will give you a warm welcome. Grab a verandah seat because the views across the Glass Mountains are spectacular!
You don’t find many authentic German restaurants in Australia, never mind the Sunshine Coast, so tuck into Bavarian specialties, washed down with your pick of German beers. The range is extensive so you might find it difficult to choose. Try DAB Dortmund or Altenmünster Marktoberdorf from the Helles range. If you prefer a Pilsner, go for the Radeberger Dresden or Weltenburger Pils but there’s also smoked beers, wheat ales and Original Kölsch to sample. Don’t forget to check out the specials board for the current guest beer. By the way, it’s not all bratwurst - veggos and vegans have their own delicious menu. Lederhosen optional.
This is a chilled-out tour, so we don’t prise you from your lunch and throw you into the minibus for your next stop. There’s plenty of time to rest and digest, but don’t get too much of that after-lunch sleepyhead feeling because the final stop on your RTW Tour is upbeat, uptempo and back-to-the-50s. Rick’s Garage at Palmwoods is a Sunshine Coast institution, and you’ll soon see why. It’s the real-deal retro diner, with vintage cars and bikes outside and, inside, vintage rockabilly memorabilia (yeah, trying saying that after a few beers) and 1950s decor just for the fun of it.
Converted from an old petrol station and auto workshop, Rick’s Garage is a perfect way to end your beer and wine trail, because, this time, it’s whisky. Upstairs at Rick’s is an outrageous whisky bar, with over 70 varieties waiting for you as well as some house-infused whiskies doing their thing in oak barrels live in the bar. And, yes, the whisky cocktails are the best we’ve tasted. Last stop, Beer Tasting at Glasshouse Brewery.
After you’ve totally chilled out, it’s time to head back to your chosen drop-off point. We’ll wake you when we get there!

Tour description
Today’s the day for history buffs, rail enthusiasts, scenery lovers and people who want something that little bit different - an action-packed yet relaxing day out. You’ll see the Sunshine Coast hinterland in a totally different way as you journey back in time on Australia’s third biggest heritage railway.
You won’t need to rush your breakfast because we’ll come to you at your chosen pick-up point for today’s fascinating tour. Our friendly and experienced driver will welcome you aboard our comfy and COVID-safe minibus for the air-conditioned drive to the historic gold town of Gympie. Sit back, relax and enjoy the views as you’ll be chauffeured into the Sunshine Coast’s north hinterland, through national park country and up to historic gold town Gympie. We’ll park at heritage-listed Old Gympie Station, built back in 1913 (although a yard had been in existence since 1881) to the traditional Queensland Pagoda design.
Shortly after arrival, it’s time to climb aboard a lovingly-restored heritage rail locomotive for the two-hour return ride to Amamoor and back.
If your day trip is on Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday, you’ll jump into the Gympie Rattler, an authentic C17 Brown Bomber steam locomotive, built back in the 1950s by Walkers Ltd. No 967 is one of 227 engines built between 1920 and 1953. No 967 had 19 years’ service up until decommissioning in 1969. But now it’s been restored to full working order and stands proud red and black livery.
Travel on Thursday and you’ll be welcomed aboard the historic railmotor RM76 which, back in the day, ran the Brooloo line to Gympie. Railmotors were used when passenger numbers couldn’t justify a full steam service, but they were vital for shopping, deliveries and getting kids to school.
For the next two hours, sit back in your carriage and enjoy the fascinating countryside of the Mary Valley. From Gympie, you’ll hop over the Mary River and chug, rattle and roll peacefully through curving farmscapes, over timber bridges and alongside gentle slopes. Through Lagoon Pocket, over the Gympie road, through the picturesque rural town of Dagun and on towards your destination, tiny rural Amamoor, nestling alongside Amamoor State Forest.
Your enthusiastic and knowledgeable Rattler volunteers are there to help you get the most out of the experience, so don’t be afraid to fire questions at them! At Amamoor, you’ll observe the historic rail turntable in action.
After a comfort break and a stroll around the station, climb back on board for the return journey to Gympie. Gaze out at the landscape from a different perspective and arrive back at the station just in time for lunch.
Jump down from your carriage, stretch your legs and head on over to one of two of our favourite lunch spots in Gympie. Your table is already booked so we hope you’ve worked up an appetite!
Where you’ll lunch will depend on which day you’re travelling. At Zesty’s, enjoy a freshly-prepared, delicious a-la-carte lunch overlooking beautiful gardens at the historic Gunabul Homestead, built back in 1885. Alternatively, head to old-world Kingston House, built in 1901, for awesome weekly lunch specials.
