ITINERARY:

Step off the beaten track and into the wild on this nature-focused, small-group hiking tour through the spectacular Blue Mountains. Designed for wildlife enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers, this experience offers a rare opportunity to encounter native Australian animals in their natural habitat—far from the crowds and tourist coaches.

With a late-morning departure, you’ll avoid Sydney’s peak-hour traffic and have time to explore the city before heading into the wilderness. Just 50 kilometres from the CBD, Blue Mountains National Park—a UNESCO World Heritage-listed treasure—is renowned for its dramatic cliffs, deep valleys, and extraordinary diversity of flora and fauna.

We begin the day with a brief stop in the charming mountain town of Leura or Glenbrook, where you can enjoy a coffee, browse quaint local shops, or simply soak in the relaxed village atmosphere.

From there, we head into the bush on a wildlife-spotting adventure. As the afternoon unfolds and the bushland comes alive, we’ll search for kangaroos, wallabies, and native birdlife, which are most active around dusk. This is a chance to experience Australia’s unique fauna where it truly belongs—in the wild.

The journey continues with guided hikes through native eucalyptus forest, along scenic trails offering breathtaking views of the Jamison Valley. Along the way, we visit the iconic Three Sisters rock formation and pause at hidden lookouts that few visitors ever see.

One of the highlights of the day is a 90-minute return bushwalk to the base of Wentworth Falls, descending the equivalent of 8 flights of stairs. Surrounded by lush rainforest and the sounds of cascading water, you’ll be immersed in a truly wild and tranquil corner of the Blue Mountains.

As sunset approaches, we make our way to one of the region’s most spectacular viewpoints—Echo Point or Lincoln’s Rock. Here, you’ll watch the sun dip behind distant ranges, casting golden light and long shadows across the cliffs and valleys. It’s a peaceful, unforgettable moment that captures the true spirit of this ancient landscape.

After sunset, we begin our relaxed return journey to Sydney, including a short comfort stop along the way. With a flexible return time, this tour is all about slowing down, tuning in to nature, and enjoying the quiet magic of the mountains at dusk.
